Joanne Burke lives in Manchester with her husband and two boys. Prior to taking a career break to start a family, Joanne worked in the Travel industry.

Her eldest son, Darryl was diagnosed with Autism at age the age of 4 1/2 and shortly after underwent a full biomedical assessment. Darryl has responded well to dietary intervention, nutritional supplementation and a range of biomedical interventions.

Joanne is a trustee/director of the charity Treating Autism and holds the office of Finance Director. She organises a special needs playscheme in Manchester that runs during the school holidays and coordinates a local support group for parents of children with autism.
